E-commerce Jewellery Photography in London
product and on-model imagery designed for jewellery brands selling online
I’m Jana Kukebal, a London commercial jewellery photographer specialising in on-model photography, e-commerce packshots and styled still-life imagery. With more than 12 years of commercial photography experience, I work with emerging and established jewellery brands to create polished visual content for product pages, advertising campaigns, social media and collection launches.
On-model jewellery photography
On-model jewellery photography shows customers exactly how a piece looks when worn - its scale, proportions, fit and relationship to the body.
This helps remove uncertainty when shopping online and allows customers to understand whether earrings are delicate or statement-sized, how a necklace falls on the neckline, or how rings and bracelets look in proportion to the hand and wrist.
These images are designed to work across product pages, website banners, social media and campaign assets, supporting both conversion and brand storytelling.
Still life jewellery photography
Product photography can range from clean e-commerce packshots to more creative styled still life.
White or neutral-background packshots keep attention on the jewellery itself and are ideal for product pages, catalogues and online marketplaces. They allow customers to clearly see shape, colour, finish and product details without visual distractions. Such images are also easier for visual-search systems to interpret because a clean background makes the product easier to recognise and understand.
Styled still-life photography serves a different purpose: it introduces props, surfaces, shadows and composition to communicate the personality of the collection. These images are particularly useful for homepage banners, launches, advertising, PR and social content.
How it works
1. Brief call & goals
We start with a short call to understand your brand and the end goal of the shoot. I’ll ask a few practical questions (products, quantity, styling, deadline) and based on this I’ll recommend the best approach and share an approximate quote and next steps.
2. Moodboard & shoot plan
Next, we build a clear plan together: moodboard, styling direction and shot list. This keeps the shoot efficient and ensures your images look consistent across your range.
3. Team & logistics (if needed)
If your project needs extra support, I’m happy to recommend trusted professionals: models, hair & makeup artists, nail artists, stylists, videographers, and studios. If you’d prefer me to take a more active role in organising the shoot - for example, sourcing and casting models, coordinating creatives - this can be arranged for an additional fee.
4. Shoot day + DELIvery
On the day, if you join me for the shoot, you’ll be able to review the images on a larger screen as we work, allowing for immediate feedback and adjustments. For remote shoots, I can share behind-the-scenes updates and image previews throughout the day, depending on the process we’ve agreed in advance.
After the shoot, you’ll receive the full set of images within 5-7 days. If additional detailed retouching is required - for example skin clean-up, metal polishing, etc - you can select the relevant images afterwards and I’ll provide a separate retouching quote.
Jewellery photography portfolio
My goal is to become a trusted creative partner to my clients, rather than simply a photographer for a single shoot

A successful jewellery shoot often involves much more than just a photographer. I can recommend trusted models, hair and makeup artists, nail artists, stylists, videographers and London studios from my professional network. This means clients can build the right team without having to start every search from scratch.
-
I currently keep image licensing intentionally straightforward: standard commercial usage is included within the photography fee, allowing brands to use the final images across their own website, e-commerce channels, social media, PR and marketing without additional time-limited usage charges. This gives clients greater flexibility when planning campaigns and reusing content, while keeping project costs transparent from the outset.
-
Yes. I regularly work with emerging and newly launched jewellery brands, as well as established businesses. Shoots can be tailored to different budgets and collection sizes, from a small launch campaign to a larger e-commerce or seasonal shoot.
I can also help brands plan the shoot itself, including image requirements, styling, models, locations and the overall visual direction. So, if this is your first photoshoot, don’t worry - I’ll guide you through the whole process and help with everything along the way.
-
Most brands benefit from a mix. White-background packshots are ideal for product pages and online marketplaces. Styled still life builds mood and brand identity, while on-model imagery communicates scale, styling and how each piece actually looks when worn. However, if you’re choosing just one - I’d recommend on-model photography to start with.
-
Simple packshots: around 10–30 minutes per product
Styled still life: up to around 1 hour per setup
On-model: around 5–10 minutes per productThis might allow roughly 40–45 simple packshots, 8–10 styled setups or 50–70 on-model pieces during a full shooting day, depending on the complexity of the jewellery and number of angles required.
-
Every shoot includes professional lighting, shooting and delivery of all images with colour correction. Add-ons at extra cost: retouching, model sourcing, hair & makeup, video, styling support, location/studio hire.
-
Yes. I can recommend the full team for your jewellery photoshoot, including professional models, hair and make-up artists, nail technicians and other creatives.
If you’d like me to help with shoot organisation and model sourcing, this can be arranged for an additional fee.
-
Yes. For selected projects, jewellery can be shipped to me in advance of the shoot - a convenient option for brands based outside London or overseas that don’t need to attend in person.
Before the shoot, we’ll agree the shot list, references, styling and image requirements so everything is fully prepared. On the day, I can keep you updated with behind-the-scenes images and we’ll stay in touch for your prompt feedback and approvals.
-
Most jewellery photoshoots take place in professional studios in London, depending on the type of imagery required. I can recommend and arrange suitable studios for both on-model and product photography.
For selected projects, jewellery can also be sent directly to my home studio for photography - a convenient option for brands that don’t need to attend the shoot in person.
-
Clean pieces make a huge difference: remove fingerprints, dust, and tarnish where possible; check stones, clasps, and symmetry; and pack items safely and separately to avoid micro-scratches.
-
After the shoot, you'll receive the full set of usable images with professional colour correction. These are yours to use for the agreed commercial purposes across your website, social media and marketing. If you’d like any images professionally retouched, simply send me your selection. We’ll agree on the level of retouching required, and I’ll provide a clear retouching quote before any work begins.
-
Typical turnaround depends on shoot size and retouching level - we’ll agree timelines upfront so you can plan your launch. Usually, I deliver the full set of colour-corrected images within 5–7 days after the shoot.
Final retouching takes longer depending on complexity. As a rough guide, standard (not too detailed) retouching of around 50 images may take an additional 7 working days. If you have a hard deadline, tell me early and I’ll advise the best way to build the shoot around it.
